Protests continue across the country over George Floyd's death | USA TODAY



Protests have erupted across the country daily since the death of George Floyd, a black man who died after being pinned to the ground by Minneapolis police officers.

All four officers involved have been fired and officer Derek Chauvin, who kept his knee on Floyd’s neck for more than 8 minutes, has been arrested on third-degree murder and manslaughter charges.

Protests in the US: Latest developments | DW News



Protests across the United States enter their seventh day, with demonstrations in scores of cities after the brutal death of George Floyd, an unarmed African American man, in police custody one week ago. The national guard has been deployed in a number of states. Curfews were extended but broken in major cities as police struggled to contain the situtation. The coronavirus pandemic has not stopped hundreds of thousands from taking to the streets. Several people have died amid the unrest. A memorial gathering for Mr. Floyd took place in Minneapolis.

WE ARE GEORGE FLOYD



On May 25th, 2020, Derek Chauvin, a Minneapolis police officer, murdered George Floyd, a black man, by driving his knee into George’s neck for 8 minutes and 45 seconds until he died. This film chronicles New York City’s overwhelming response.
